Diesel Generator - Applications and Brands
Diesel Generators Applications
Diesel generators are very useful for a wide variety of applications. Lets look first at residential usage. Backup generators are
great ways to keep electrical power running but they are quite expensive for most families. That is why an investment in one is
expected to last quite a while. A diesel generator is valuable here since it usually lasts longer than a gasoline generator. Diesel
also is less combustible and has a longer shelf life than gasoline which makes it better as a residential generator fuel. However,
diesel generators are not as useful as propane or natural gas generators for residential usage. Diesel generators can also be used
as marine generators. There are diesel marine generators that are more powerful and have better engine life than their gasoline
counterparts. For most boats running diesel fuel, a diesel powered marine generator just makes more sense. For RV, portable, and
other recreational generator needs, gasoline or other fuel types may work also but for heavy duty, reliable applications, diesel
or propane are the best options. All these applications can be used with diesel generators.
Residential Backup Diesel Generator Brands
Poweredgenerators.com does not consider diesel generators the best option for residential applications when natural gas or propane
are much better options. There are some brands out there but all customers should first look at natural gas or propane options for
residential backup generators. However, diesel generators are viable options when larer fuel storage is available.
