The Kohler Generator Collection
There are four categories Kohler places their generators under; Industrial, Residential, Mobile and Marine. Industrial products include diesel, gas and LP generators, transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, packaging and towable generators.
Residential products include natural gas and LP generators and transfer switches. Watts range from 8.5 to 100kW output capabilities and can provide power for weeks. They’re quiet and have clean emission rates. Plus they have automatic back up power that can have power restored within 10 seconds.
Mobile products are for commercial and recreational vehicles and APU’s, or auxiliary power units. Diesel, gas, LP and APU generators are engineered to provide power in the most remote locations. APU’s are great for truckers. They are diesel-run generators that provide in-cab heating and air conditioning. It recharges the trucks main batteries and lights, all without idling.
Marine products include diesel, gas, Low CO emissions generators and generator controls. There is a full selection of low-CO gas and smooth, quiet-running diesel generators, plus support equipment. All of this is backed by a great support network on land or sea, and all models have been designed by those who know how boaters like to use them. All generators are between 50-60Hz and generator controls are for all generator from 20-2800kW. |
Benefits to Owning A Kohler
Kohler is a trusted name, not just when manufacturing generators. The sizes of all of their models are small to medium, making them perfect for travel. The noise levels are not as high as other generators, although some models offer almost complete silence. All models come with a 2 year warranty that includes all basic parts, and the easy start ups get you up and going in no time.
Transfer Switches
Transfer switches are available for any Kohler home back up power system. You can have it installed in your home or outside of your home. It has continuous monitoring of utility power and an automatic start feature that can be activated with or without you being present. If power fails, rest easy that your transfer switch will automatically start your generator, and if power is restored the transfer switch is capable of switching back to original state.
Paralleling Switchgear
If utility power ever fails, Kohler’s paralleling switchgear instantly reads the situation, engages the generators and connects them to your facility. This gear is good for emergency, prime power or load-management applications. The best part about this system is it’s customizable to any specifications and facility needs.
Disadvantage of Kohler Generator
The only downside to owning a Kohler Generator is knowing that Kohler doesn’t manufacture all of their models. Yanmar, Yamaha, General Motors, Waukesha, John Deere, Detroit Diesel, Volvo and Mitsubishi all manufacture generators for Kohler.

Whether you're planning for an emergency or planning a party, Kohler has a great list of items you can rent. Mobile restrooms, mobile light towers, and HVAC systems are all things offered by Kohler. They can provide you with what you need at a moments notice or by planning ahead of time. There are 80 service locations nationwide that provide this service.
Kohler Wireless Monitoring Services
This service is for Industrial Series generators. You must have a separate account with the PowerScan Wireless Monitoring service through Kohler. This cost effective safety net provides a 24/7 connection between you and your generator. This service is capable of sending an alert to your phone, pager, fax, XML, voicemail or email. |
