Arkansas, like many central states, is efficient for use with flat-plate collectors. According to the NREL map, the southwest part of the state is
best for this type of solar collection and this part of the state is also the most populated as well. Arkansas can work with small concentrating collectors but they
are not going to be very useful. Flat-plate collectors that are effective during winter months are the best in Arkansas.
