Illinois offers good resources for flat-plate solar collectors with the exception for a small portion of the state, the northeastern section. The
rest of the state offers a range of 4,500 to 5,000 Whr/sq m per day which is useful for many applications. Illinois does not offer the same usefulness with concentrating
solar collectors as most of the state is below average. People living in Illinois can still make use of solar power through flat-plate collectors.
