Kansas's solar resource varies going from east to west. Kansas is a good source for flat-plate solar collectors and has excellent resources on the
western side of the state. For concentrating collectors, Kansas changes into four sections of different power ranges going from east to west. Only the east side is not
as well suited for concentrating collectors but the west side is still an excellent option. As seen in the NREL maps on Kansas solar resource, the state allows solar
power to become very useful throughout the state.
