Michigan's solar resource allows decent powering of residential and business applications using flat-plate collectors as the state averages right in the
middle of the power spectrum on the NREL map. Michigan is a poor source for concentrating collectors as the whole state is shaded light blue which is around the 2,500
to 3,000 range.
