South Dakota provides good resources for flat-plate collectors with the best being the western half of the state. The state is split in half east to
west for concentrating collectors between the 4,000 to 4,500 range on the east and the 4,500 to 5,000 range for the western half of the state. This makes South Dakota viable
for some applications using concentrating collectors.
