Google has become a giant corporate organization and it is good to hear that the company is taking the initiative in the energy problems of the world as well. According to Google’s blog, the company is in the process of installing solar photovoltaic panels that will be able to produce 1.6 megawatts  of power which is to be distributed to several of the company’s office buildings. The blog also mentions that the solar generated power will offset 30% of peak energy consumption in these buldings. This is one of the biggest initiatives by a corporate giant in not only seeing the potential of solar power for efficient energy but also as a sound investment. Although this does not solve any energy problems, it is a great move from a company that uses plenty of energy to to step into alternative energy sources and hopefully a lot of companies that are able to harness other alternative energy sources will follow suit.
