The North Hoyle offshore wind farm was one of the UK's first major projects started in built in 2003 by Npower Renewables. The wind farm is located 5 miles off the coast of North Wales between Rhyl and Prestatyn with 30 Vestas V80 2 MW turbines and has a total capacity of 60 MW of energy. The wind farm produces enough energy to power 40,000 homes.
